Thankful Thursday (a little late....)

Today, I am simply thankful for....

THIS CREW....

AND THIS MAN.

I am blessed. Unbelievably blessed.

Things have been crazy....

Aaron came home from school sick today

Isaac has had a fever for the past 36 hours

Ellie is still tugging on her cute little ears (possibly heading to the doc again tomorrow)

And she is still up to eat twice every night (sigh....)

Scott is traveling for the rest of the week

Isaac's birthday party is Sunday

Ellie's baby dedication is Sunday

We just signed, notarized, and mailed our closing paperwork for the house in NY today

We cleaned out the house in NY 1 1/2 weeks ago

We move to a new apartment in 2 weeks

We close on a new house in 3 weeks

We move to a new house in 1 1/2 months

I went to the most amazing Beth Moore simulcast with a few of my girlfriends on Saturday (it was totally life changing.... and a MUCH needed break....)

I just counted and will have to make nine phone calls to utility companies over the next 1 1/2 months (sigh....)

We will finish our Financial Peace University class tomorrow night (13 weeks with Dave Ramsey... it was fantastic; I highly recommend it!)

We finally paid off my student loan a few weeks ago (hoorah!)

My hubby and I need a date....

The Gift of an Ordinary Day....

.... this is a beautiful reminder for me.... AND makes me sob....

Thankful Thursday...

Today, I am thankful....

1) For the awesome parks near me! It's amazing to me that I can be having a lousy momma day, and the minute that my kiddos and I step out into the fresh spring air at the park, it's like all is well with the world. I'm so excited.... after we move into our new house, there will be an AWESOME, AWESOME park within walking distance! Hoorah!
2) For liquid tylenol/ibuprofen. Isaac and Aaron both took some nasty spills tonight.... Aaron on his ripstik; Isaac on his trike (both of them are fine... just a little sore). Anyway, I think that the meds took the edge off the pain and allowed them to both get to sleep just fine. Also, Ellie has a 101 temp tonight, and she is now sleeping soundly, too.
3) For a nap today... 1 1/2 HOURS, to be exact!!!! It was JUST WHAT I NEEDED! :)
4) For my Dad's willingness to watch Isaac and Ellie today so I could go to a fun lunch out!
5) For an awesome, helpful insurance agent. It's amazing how many different changes are involved with a move, and our new agent has been incredible!

Thankful Thursday...

Today, I am thankful....

1) That we had an absolutely FABULOUS time in Florida! Many, many pictures to come once we get through some of the craziness.... but all in all, it was incredible!

2) That we are FINALLY going to NY to clear out our house there! While it is bittersweet to have closure with that piece, we are so thankful that we will have a closing date soon and will no longer be paying on a mortgage for a home that we cannot enjoy!
3) For the amazing friends that we made in NY. I am thankful that relationships CAN continue over the miles.
4) That God continues to provide for us in so many UNIQUE ways. We just found out that our apartment complex is making us switch apartments mid-May (our house here won't be available until mid-June). It's a crazy story.... but basically, because of some new state regulation on apartment complexes, they are REQUIRED to make our apartment available for a low income family as soon as they have another 3-BR apartment available for us. Sigh.... YES, this IS creating MUCH more stress for us, but I AM CHOOSING to focus on the fact that they are letting us live here RENT-FREE for the month of May because of the inconvenience. Wow, it's going to be a crazy couple of months.... WILL YOU PLEASE PRAY FOR US?!?! :)
5) For access to quality medical care. Ellie's eardrum tore in the midst of our trip home from Florida (BOO! The day after our little sweetie got her first tooth! Poor darlin'!) I am so thankful to have access to good doctors who can give us the answers that we need.

The call....

So, we've managed to form a pretty good relationship with Aaron's teacher (totally praising God for that!) After a rough transition, Aaron has seemed to get into more of a rhythm; however, as with all of us, he does still have some bad days that pop up. Today was one of those, and his teacher called to bring me into the loop about some things. I TOTALLY appreciated the call.

After we got through those details of the call, she said to me, "I could fill a whole book with the hilarious things that he says." Uh oh, now I'm scared....

The one comment she chose to share with me today....

The day before April Fools Day, my sweet babe said, "If my mom REALLY wants to get my dad good for April Fools Day, she just says that we're going to have another baby!" Ahem.... I pulled that trick ONCE a few years ago; seriously, this kid doesn't forget ANYTHING!!!!!!!! What WILL my son's teachers know about our family over the next 11 years?! SCARY! :)

My friend, Christi, is a teacher and has an amazing blog that has given me many laughs over the years (you know, the funny things that kiddos say). However, I am now FREAKING OUT, wondering if Aaron's teacher has a blog somewhere, too....
