On our drive home from Muncie tonight, Isaac had his left foot tucked under his right leg as he was sitting in his carseat, and his foot fell asleep. He said:
"There are bees in my foot, and they're buzzing all around!"
Funny.... that IS kind of what it feels like! Very creative!

An oldie but a goodie!
Happy sigh.... I love seeing videos of my kiddos as babies. As I was messing with Youtube to post the basketball footage from the previous post, I ran across this gem....
Saturdays = Upward!
Aaron is in the middle of his first basketball season, and he is LOVING it! It's so fun to cheer him on each Saturday.... Isaac likes the popcorn (and halftime, as you'll see in the following videos).... and Ellie completely lights up when she finds Aaron on the court!
Aaron's team is introduced! He loves "running through the smoke"! This Upward program is really well run, and they make it super-fun for the kiddos!

Thankful Thursday....
Today, I am thankful....
1) For God's provision. Some days, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for this one. Today, as I was folding baskets and baskets of laundry in the basement, I was, literally, so grateful to have baskets and baskets of laundry to fold. And as I put a cart-full of groceries into the back of the van after a big Meijer trip, I was overwhelmed with gratitude again.
2) That I have three amazing kiddos (almost 4!) AND an amazing hubby to wear those baskets and baskets of clothes. At 23 weeks pregnant, I have some hormones raging, and I am pretty emotional AND so grateful. There was a season in our life when we wondered if we would ever be able to have more than one child. I am so, so, SO grateful to be raising the little darlings that we have been given.
3) For amazing friends who walked with us during that hard and difficult season in our life.
4) For Aaron's AMAZING teacher. She "gets" him (even when he is NOT a little darling!) and she is awesome!
5) For Aaron's excitement about his new devotional book and his new Bible. Seriously, I have a lot to learn from his enthusiasm. It is so precious.... and contagious!

Crickets....
Scott told the boys that when he was a kid, he remembers hearing his grandpa say, "Did you hear that mouse on a motorcycle?" when he would "toot." Isaac has decided to adapt the phrase to fit 2011, I guess.... every time he expels some air, he says:
"Did you hear that cricket on a motorcycle?"
And I laugh EVERY time.
Wow, kids are fun.... even when it comes to gross body functions.... :)

Thankful Thursday....
Today, I am thankful....
1) For an awesome girls' night out tonight at Bandidos with my new friend, Erin. Seriously.... great conversation.... and I love that I can totally be myself with her!
2) For a warm house on a cold night.
3) That the school corporation didn't call a delay or cancellation this morning so MOPS was still able to meet.
4) For movie nights at home with my hubby. I really, really love just being with that guy.... anywhere, anytime. I'm still in love.
5) For diapers. When we dropped off the car the other day, and I saw that little sweetie sitting completely naked without a diaper on, I was reminded of SO many things that I take for granted. Diapers.... actually, not a little thing.... a BIG thing. I am grateful to have diapers for our sweetie.

So long, Saturn....
So, this will serve as a tribute to a car.
Yes, it might seem a little crazy, but today was just a little sad at our house. We gave THE Saturn away. THE Saturn that Scott met in 1994 a few months BEFORE he met me. THE Saturn that he drove on our very first date in November of 1995. THE Saturn that has been one of the biggest financial blessings in our marriage because it required so little maintenance and just kept chugging its way up to around 200,000 miles. THE Saturn that is still running just fine.
So, back to the sadness (AND JOY!) of today..... before the sadness came extreme happiness. You see, we have received a huge blessing. I won't go into all the details, but we were just given a new-to-us car. One that is very comfy. One that can even fit our almost-family-of-6 if necessary. One that has 75,000 less miles than THE good ol' Saturn. HUGE, HUGE blessing. We are SO, SO grateful.
And instead of paying to store "Daddy's Green Race Car" (as our boys called it!) somewhere until Aaron gets his license in 8 more years, we decided that we wanted to pay it forward and find a family that could use a car (and since the Kelley Blue Book trade-in value was only $375, we didn't feel like we'd be losing too, too much in the process! HA!)
Enter: an amazing ministry that is organized by an amazing woman in our church. Did you know that there is a very, very large population of Burmese refugees in Fort Wayne? Yep, there is. And a wonderful lady in our church has a great connection via the "Friends of Burma" ministry via Sonrise. Upon a friend's recommendation, we contacted Michele, and she found THE family who needed our car (thanks, Michele!)
We delivered it today. Immediately upon entering the apartment, I noticed two things: there was absolutely no furniture, and there was a baby sitting completely naked on a towel in the middle of the living room.
And I was thrilled to meet this family. Thrilled that someone blessed us. Thrilled that we could bless someone else. Paying it forward feels so, so good....
So.... so long, Saturn.... you've been good to us.... now, go and be good to them (yeah, I guess today wasn't THAT sad!!!) :)
* And as a funny side note, the boys have already started calling Scott's new-to-us car, a big ol' Buick Lesabre, "Daddy's New Race Car".... and have told me that they prefer it because it has more cup holders and SIX seats! I love the perspective of kids! I have just told Scott that he looks very "pastoral" in his new car! :)

I'm gonna miss this....
A few years ago, a friend got me hooked on a blog. And awhile back, that popular blogger wrote a post titled, "I'm gonna miss this." I loved it. It challenged me to think about the things that I will miss about this stage one day.... and challenged me to savor sweet moments.
This week, one of my real-life mommy friends wrote a great post, too, listing the things that she will and will not miss about this stage (thanks, Janna). Again, it challenged me to savor sweet moments.
And tonight, as I tucked in my 8 year old, I caught my breath as he wrapped his sweet arm around mine and fell asleep while his daddy read a Bible story from across the room. I loved the peacefulness of that moment. I loved listening to the sound of the changes in his breathing patterns as he drifted off to dreamland. I loved some cuddle time with a boy who nearly never stops or slows down for a second.
And I did savor that sweet moment.... and I will not forget it....

Flashback to the Children's Museum
We had so much fun at The Children's Museum in Indy on New Years Eve. It was a blast to reconnect with Ryan, Tina, Bryce, and Caleb for the day before they headed back to New Jersey. While we ended up in the hallway because of the crowds and didn't get to enjoy the museum's "Countdown to Noon", it was still a great day! The boys loved it!
Ellie had A LOT of stroller time that day!

And of course, Isaac LOVED the racecar
The carousel was a huge hit

You know you're a mom....
....when you look in the mirror after tucking all three children in for the night and realize that you have Desitin cream smeared all over the top rim of your glasses....

Isaac's preschool program
So, this is a little flashback on a Friday.... but wanted to post these adorable little clips of Isaac. The video quality isn't great (ahem.... because I was too busy giggling.... and because I was rapidly running out of film) but seriously, I love this adorable little shepherd! :)

Thankful Thursday (a little late....)
Today, I am thankful....
1) For access to high quality medical care. I have an ultrasound at 1:00 today and can't wait to see our precious babe.
2) For the generosity of others. We have been so blessed in our 13 years of marriage by other people in our family and in the body of Christ. Truly amazing.... we pray that God will continually allow us to be a blessing to others as well.
3) For Skype. We were able to touch base for a minute with friend from Buffalo and with Scott's sis and her fam last night. It brought me so much joy to see their faces and hear their voices (and to see a brand new, adorable little babe, too!)
4) For our church's great preschool! I am in the midst of filling out registration paperwork for Isaac for next year and am so thankful for the care that he receives there!
5) For a babysitter + a double date coming up! One of my dear friends and I share a birthday weekend, so we are celebrating together with a night out with our hubbies! Can't wait! :)

Sweet little words....
Yesterday morning, we were all running around and trying to get out the door to go to The Children's Museum in Indy. I took a moment, paused, and looked at Isaac eating his cereal at the table.I said, "Isaac, you're so sweet!"
He responded with, "Mom, you're so sweet, too. I think I'll marry you someday."
I do think that he was even batting his long eyelashes at me....
Sugar. Yep. He's made with extra sugar.
