Gratitude....

I just got home from Dallas. My cousin got married this weekend and thanks to the generosity of my parents.... my sister, Ellie, and I flew down on Friday and came home today. It was a great trip, and I was SO thankful to be there (pics to come one day....)

On the way home, I was completely overwhelmed with gratitude. As we entered the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, a long line of folks in camo passed in front of us. As soon as I heard the American Airlines worker say, "Welcome Home!" to them, I teared up.... and was completely overwhelmed. We overheard and saw a few interesting things that gave me immediate perspective.....

First, one of them got stopped by security, needing to take his boots off or something. Deb and I both thought, "Really?! Really?! I think I trust him...." (I DO get it.... someone could easily dress in the attire and not be legitimate.... anyway....)

Secondly, Deb overheard someone ask one of these guys what his first meal was going to be. His response: Spaghetti.

Perspective. Perspective.

So thankful for the men and women who have served and continue to serve..... thank you.

This is my #1000 post!!!! Can you believe it?!?! I started this blog in October 2006. Wow.... we've come a long way, baby!!!

I AM going to be a blogger again now that we have high speed again! I just may have to re-enter the world of blogging gradually.... or maybe headfirst.... only time will tell! :)

TWO DAYS!

Hi blogging friends!!! In just two days, we will have the keys to our new house! We can't wait. There is excitement oozing here!!! :)

SO, I just hopped on to share an Isaac story that I don't want to forget....

Today, I asked him, "Buddy, what do you want to be when you grow up?"
Without missing a beat, he said, "I wanna be in the Fresh Beat Band!!!"
Me: "Oh, that's cool...
Him: "And I will sleep with Marena..."
Me: "Oh, really...."
Him: "Because she is BEAUTIFUL...."

(Yep, we're going to have to talk about purity soon with this guy, and he is only FOUR!)
